Verena combines economic expertise with a flair for communication. As a former editor at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and head of communications at Avenir Suisse, a a renowned Swiss think tank, she knows how to get to the heart of complex issues in an accessible way while maintaining strategic foresight. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Innsbruck and completed the IMD Digital Excellence Diploma in 2020. She loves spending her free time in nature – hiking, enjoying winter sports or, whenever possible, windsurfing.

Elena brings together strategy, creativity, and technology. With over ten years of experience at the intersection of communications and IT-including positions at UFS-Marcom and Avenir Suisse-and a CAS in Content Marketing and Automation from FHNW (2024), she has built strong expertise in digital marketing. She ensures that strategic goals are achieved with the right MarTech stack, creating sustainable solutions along the way. Elena finds inspiration and fresh perspectives while hiking in the mountains-where vision, perseverance, and openness to new paths are just as essential.
Varduhi Martirosyan
Data Science Consultant
Varduhi is a seasoned Data Science Consultant with deep expertise in analytics. She specializes in developing insightful dashboards, streamlining data aggregation from diverse sources, and delivering predictive analytics and visualization solutions. With a decade of experience in data analysis, over five years specializing in machine learning and digital signal processing, and a master’s degree in engineering from Yerevan University, she brings deep expertise and a well-rounded skill set to the team. Varduhi is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Ethics and AI at the University of Lucerne.

Daria is responsible for Telya's web projects and develops customized WordPress websites and applications with a special focus on user-friendliness. After completing her doctorate in Computer Science, she gained many years of experience in Kharkiv. Upon arriving in Switzerland, she obtained a diploma as a Full Stack Developer at the Constructor Academy in Zurich. She likes to explore her new hometown of Wädenswil on roller skates or by mountain bike.

As a content manager, Sarka keeps websites up to date with precise text and data maintenance. Her proficiency in several foreign languages is particularly valuable in this role. As an economist, she is interested in all topics at the intersection of economics, politics, society and sustainability. Sarka holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Zurich. In her free time, she is drawn to faraway places, especially Canada.
Jakob Schaad

Jakob is an expert in the interplay between politics, economics and civil society. He gained his in-depth experience in regulatory developments in leading positions at the Swiss National Bank, the International Monetary Fund and as a personal advisor to the Minister of Economic Affairs. He later served as Deputy CEO of the Swiss Bankers Association and Vice Director of Avenir Suisse. In his free time, he swaps his suit for a motorcycle or takes to the stage of an amateur theater.

As founder of Sensor Advice and former campaign manager at economiesuisse, she has been developing innovative dialogue projects for over 25 years – currently "Wir, die Wirtschaft" (2024). She began her career in advertising, studied social, political and media sciences, and conducted research at the University of Zurich. Today, she shares her expertise as author, editor and lecturer at the University of Lucerne.

As a journalist and historian, Nicole serves as the linguistic conscience of the Telya team. No misplaced comma escapes her, nor does any adjective go awry.
